Pokémon Masters review
Pokémon Masters EX is a mobile game developed by DeNA Co. It was released in 2019 and is now available for free on Android and iOS.
Gameplay: Strategic Battles
The gameplay formula is pretty classic: you have to take part in 3v3 turn-based battles. You are able to collect and upgrade Pokémon to team them up for the battles. Different Pokémon have different abilities, and it is strategically important to find a proper combination of Pokémon for your playstyle. As always, the game has sufficient room for creativity, and there might be lots of different strategies to win each battle. The game has a story mode featuring popular characters from the Pokémon universe and offers a great amount of content with frequent updates. The game is free to play, but there are in-game purchases available, so you should expect the game to want you to buy something.
Graphics: Brand Style of Pokémon
The graphics are great in Pokémon Masters EX as the developers have utilized the brand Pokémon style. The game looks just like the cartoons, the graphics are very attractive, and the animations are also great. The arts of the favorite characters are made with care, and the Pokémon themselves are cute and attractive as always. The music and the sound effects are pretty average for Pokémon games. The Optimization, however, is great: Pokémon Masters EX requires iOS 11 or higher or Android 5.0 and higher, meaning it will run properly even on the budget devices.
The controls are pretty typical for a turn-based game. You are able to select the action of a specific Pokémon when it is your turn. The game is user-friendly enough, and the starting tutorial will help the new players to understand the controls properly. The Pokémon management outside of the battles is also rather clear and has no hidden difficulties.
