Apex Legends™ review
Apex Legends is a battle royale game developed by Respawn Entertainment, the creators of the Titanfall series. Apex Legends was released in 2019 and is now available on PS4, Xbox One, Windows, and Nintendo Switch.
Gameplay: Fresh Battle Royale
The core of the gameplay in Apex Legends is pretty standard for the battle royale genre. The players have to fight each other on the map, which is constantly decreasing in size, find weapons and supplies along the way and become the last survivor to win the game. The core shooter mechanics are very close to the ones from Titanfall. However, the game still manages to be pretty fresh and unique. It is all about the playable characters that gamers are allowed to choose before the session starts. Each of the playable characters has unique characteristics and abilities that are suitable for different tactics and strategies. It is possible to play in teams with your friends so you can pick characters with effective ability combinations to make the game even more fun.
Graphics: Reputation Maintained
The visual part of Apex Legends is quite similar to the one in Titanfall 2. The developers did not intend to bring the graphics on a new level. They have used the skeleton they had and did their best to optimize it for most PC setups. The only changes in graphics compared to Titanfall 2 are the visual effects of weapons and abilities. Apex Legends looks excellent, the image is always detailed enough, and the Optimization is pretty good. There is nothing special about the music or the game's sound effects, yet it still looks like a modern first-person view shooter.
Controls: Pretty Average
The controls in Apex Legends are pretty typical both for shooters and for battle royale games. The only significant difference is that you also have to use the abilities of your characters. In general, the gameplay is much faster compared to other battle royales, so you will have to master the controls properly to remain competitive.
